…these are a few of our favourite things! OK so we’re ever so slightly bonkers here in the HB studio about the care and attention we give to wrapping our Christmas gifts. There’s something strangely satisfying about deciding on your theme and style each year and coming up with novel and quirky ways to wrap and adorn each and everyone. Christmas is coming so hopefully lots of lovely ‘snail mail’ or ‘squirrel mail’ Christmas cards will be fluttering through your letterbox anytime soon! The fairy lights have just been brought out of storage and the festive snow globe is out on Claire’s desk, so Christmas has officially started to arrive in the Hummingbird studio! OK, we know its early… but there’s only 23 more days at work so we’re getting into the Christmas spirit. Well, we are already surrounded by all the Christmas stock! Hummingbird Cards Festive Baking

So we’ve been busy baking at Hummingbird Cards!! For our last posting of the year we just wanted to share with you our mini master pieces – don’t tell Mary & Paul! Last year we shared with you our festive ginger bread houses & this year we’ve continued the tradition with the epitome of Christmas, a good old fashioned Christmas cake. Claire created a Scandinavian delight! The attention to detail was exquisite & the icing can only have been described as ‘candilicious’! Our cards have been written & sent, the cake has been iced & the fairy lights are twinkling away! We’re getting ready to take a well earned break for the holidays here at the Hummingbird studio. We’ll be closed from 5 o’clock on Friday 19th December until we reopen again at 9 o’clock on Tuesday 6th January. We’ve been adding new designs to our greeting card collection and we’re so excited with these little lovelies. They’re not just a Christmas card but a decoration to display too! Christmas is our absolute favourite time of year here at Hummingbird! We’re closing the studio for the holidays to enjoy time with our loved ones (& eat too many mince pies!) We’ll be closed from 5 o’clock on Thursday 19th December 2013 until 9 o’clock on Tuesday 7th January 2014. Marston & Langinger’s Magical Winter Garden

When asked by the lovely Ali, the designer for Marston & Langinger (who make stunning glass garden rooms) to laser cut & make their gorgeous corporate Christmas cards, we jumped at the chance. Ali really loved the idea of laser cutting & had wanted to do something for a long time using it, this was her first opportunity! With designs under way it was really exciting for us all to see the finished design start to materialise. Here’s a few pics to show you the finished Winter Garden Christmas card.
