A couple of weeks ago I popped down to Brighton & thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Artists Open House‘ weekend! It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages & back grounds creating unique art & also popping into their homes to get glimpse into where the magic happens. OK, so its a little nosy, but some artists homes were just as inspirational as their art! I read an article recently that sounded just like me.. in fact I’m sure I’ve said almost the same thing after a visit to one of the many auctions, antique markets or car boots that I’ve trawled hunting for a treasured hand painted teacup and saucer ! In The Studio Today….

Spring & ‘Wedding Season’ is a busy time here in the Hummingbird studio & today is no exception! Here’s a quick snap of one of our work benches right now.. covered in invitations waiting to dry. These are laser cut quartz hearts with a beautiful cosmetic coloured paper inlay, each finished off with a small stunning diamante. Quite simple, but really beautiful! One of my favourite parts of what we do is getting to see wedding stationery finished & perfect before it gets sent off to excited Brides & Grooms…all beautifully wrapped and packaged in one of our keepsake boxes!

“Oh dear, white is really not my colour!” Like most of the rest of the British Isles, we’ve seen an awful lot of snow fall outside our studio over the past few days. Even though it makes life a little more difficult we can’t help but think that the landscape it creates is incredibly beautiful! We thought we’d share with you some photographs we took yesterday lunchtime. New Additions at Hummingbird!!!

Well, we are normally adding on new cards or designs but this week we have a couple of rather special additions to the Hummingbird Studio…. litle Woody was born on Saturday 19th September weighing in at 9lb 3.5oz!!! He is a little star and is doing great…and Suzi and her family are over the moon about their new addition! And Sally-Ann also has a new little helper in the studio… here is the gorgeous ‘Charlie’, a gorgeous fluffy bundle who now resides in the studio…keeping us entertained!! What a cutie!!
