Wedding Stationery Trends 2024
Your invitation is the first glimpse of your big day your guests will see, so it’s always important to choose stationery that reflects your personal style and the overall feel or theme of your wedding.
To help you find something new and create memorable unique invitations, we’ve pulled together some of the key wedding stationery trends for 2024. From modern simplicity and minimalist elegance, using sustainable elements, opting for digital invites or using bold bright colours, there is a trend for every couple.
MINIMALISM
Minimalist, modern simplicity designs exude a sense of elegance and timeless beauty, which is why the popularity for this trend has been growing in importance, and is now one of the key trends for wedding stationery. Less is more for a simple sophisticated look, limited artwork, more white space, with a focus on understated typography and fonts, combined with simple, clean designs and structured layouts. Mix these details with a soft muted colour palette and perhaps a touch of gold leaf or foiling and we’re loving blind emboss If you’re a couple looking for modern, elegant and understated stationery, then this trend is for you!

UNIQUE SHAPES
Invites are no longer just a rectangle they are all sorts of shapes and sizes! They look great mixed as bundles using tonal or mixed card colours to high light each stationery element. There are some wonderful shapes from arches, half-moons, lozenge, pebble, round and simple rounded corners.

We’ve been playing with shape so much and just love our newest design, Fleur. Inspiration was from the pond in my garden when the water lilies started to bloom, I just had to use their beauty in something, so Fleur was born!

SUSTAINABLITY
Sustainability, making ethical and green choices and being eco-conscious is becoming increasingly important and there are several of ways couples can make their wedding stationery more sustainable.
In 2024, expect to see wedding invitations crafted from recycled and key FSC certified (meaning it’s comes from carefully managed forests) paper, plantable paper embedded with seeds, innovative materials like bamboo or cotton and biodegradable materials. These invitations not only look stunning but also demonstrate a commitment to environmental responsibility.
Eco-friendly favours have also become a key trend to consider, to reduce waste, with creative thinking with details such as combining place cards, table decorations and favours.

BOLD AND BRIGHT COLOURS
METALLICS
Hot foil metallic printing and digital foil metallic prints are still a super popular trend for wedding stationery which has been growing over the past few years. They add a touch of glamour to any design, with gold, silver and copper being popular choices. Metallics look stunning in their own working with the minimal trend, mixed with prints and perfect on matt or velum cards and paper.
TEXTURE
A new look for stationery is texture, and here at HB we’re loving it! Its adds an element of luxury with its tactile nature and is a subtle interest to your wedding stationery. Adding texture can make your stationery feel more luxurious and tactile. There are a variety of ways to add this, such as using embossed paper, handmade papers, textured envelopes, or perhaps recycled or plantable seed papers. We love the Fresco Gesso card quality in pure white, which we print in simple black, for a modern minimalist look, incorporating texture, perhaps with a monogram or botanical illustration, and there you have it, four trends in one!!!

PERSONALISTION
Couples have always loved personalisation, but this trend is now more than ever a key detail for 2024. It could be as simple as adding a personal monogram using your initials throughout your stationery, creating a logo or crest design or commissioning a completely unique, bespoke design especially for your day. So if you’re looking for stationery that is unique and special, we’d love to help as there are so many ways in which we can do this for you.
VELLUM
Vellum adds a modern feel of simplicity, with the ‘barely there’ look of the minimalist trend. Using translucent vellum papers has been an emerging trend for a while as it adds a chic touch of softness. Vellum is now being used with many looks, adding a whole new dimension to invitations. These papers can be printed with metallic foils, full colour digital printed, made in to wraps to hold invites in beautiful bundles, modern and clean, or soft and romantic, the choice is endless! Use as sleeves, cards or envelopes or as cute name tags details, or mix with finishing touches like silk ribbons and wax seals.

LASER CUT & EMBOSSING
For the ultimate in luxurious designs or those couples looking for a delicate and intricate look, laser cutting or embossing details is a great choice. Delicate lace-like patterns, intricate floral motifs, or monograms can be laser cut onto the invitation, creating a stunning visual impact. Embossed elements, such as raised text or designs, add depth and texture, making the invitations truly captivating.
FINISHING TOUCHES
The finishing touches are the little added extras that really make the difference and add uniqueness to your invitations with a lasting impression. From wax seals, envelope liners, raw edge silk ribbons and sheer bows, paper clips, envelope sticker seals, personalised tags to vellum wraps, these little luxury details are a trend that just keeps going! With the trend for personalisation, finishing touches can also add this personalisation. These added extra details can be carried through to your on the day stationery too.
