Ordering & Prices ○ Design & Print Guide ○ T & Cs ○ Copyright
We want this bit of planning your wedding to be as easy as possible, so we’ve put together a quick guide to ordering.
Fall In Love
First of all, have a peek around our website and find the design that works perfectly for your big day! Then why not order one of our gorgeous samples, it’s the best way to see the amazing effect of laser cutting, or see the quality of foiling and find your design and colours! If you’ve got a particular colour in mind and can’t find it on our palette, send us a swatch and we’ll do our best to find something as close as possible. We can’t always send a printed sample in the right colour but we’ll try our best.
Get Organised
Found it, your perfect invitation? Now get a quote! Work out how many of each item you’re going to need and remember that most invites are sent to couples or families, so you won’t need one per guest (it sounds obvious but you’ll be surprised at how many quotes we do with the wrong number!)
Always add on a few extra invites so you have a keepsake and spares in case you write one wrong, forget somebody or lose an invite in the post. If you need extras after we’ve sent the initial order there is a reprint charge, so it’s best to have some spares.
Depending upon your requirements you may need day and evening invites, wedding detail and information cards for directions, places to stay, times, taxis, gift information, confetti, dress code….! RSVP cards, envelope sticker seals, wax seals, ribbons, bundle bands, a map, or any other information you want to include.
Wording
Next, work out your wording. This can take longer than you think! We don’t follow templates, we want your wording to be personal, so we will use the wording you provide. Are you sending as a couple, or from parents, or both? Are you wanting a casual or formal feel for your wording? How do you get around the tricky situation of letting guests know that children are not invited? We’ve put together a few ideas to help you. Our suggestions are offered as a guide, and we’re always happy to help with suggestions. You will be sent proof of the insert to check prior to printing.

Make sure you’ve included all the important information; venue, date, time, RSVP date etc. Double check the spelling and punctuation of your wording before you send it to us! We try to get proofs to you as quickly as possible so we can’t be responsible for checking spelling and punctuation errors.
Order Away
Now you can place your order. Do this by emailing and confirming your quote or telling us the design and colour you love, the items and the quantities of each that you need. We’ll then send you an invoice; make sure you double-check that all the details are correct as your order will be made to these details! Next, we’ll ask you to send us your wording.
The Creative Bit
When we’ve received your payment (which we’ll need in full before we can begin your order) we’ll start creating proof layouts for you to approve. We’ll email these as a PDF for you to check and only go to print once we have your approval. We allow two revisions to the proof in the price of your invitations (you’ll be charged £10 for any further revisions, so please make sure you’re 100% happy with your wording before you send it!) Now we go to print and start making your stationery.
The Trouble Is You Think You Have Time…
At certain times of the year, we get very busy and ask for 4 – 6 weeks of lead time to make your order. Please get in touch and confirm your order as soon as you can, we’d hate for you to be disappointed!
We do offer an Express Service if you need your stationery a little quicker, where we will ensure your order is sent within 10 working days of your layout approval. There is a £25.00 fee for this service but the availability is dependent on our production schedule so please check with us before placing your order.
Far And Away!
We are more than happy to send orders worldwide via an international courier service, please get in touch with your full delivery address and we can get you a quote. You may be liable for customs charges in your country, so it’s best to check this before ordering as Hummingbird Cards can’t be responsible for any extra charges you may have to pay when your stationery arrives with you.
It’s On The Way
We’ll take care to wrap your little lovelies beautifully to avoid any damage and then they’re on their way! Your order will be sent using either a courier service or Royal Mail Special Delivery. Either way, it’ll need a signature. As they are so delicate, please be careful when opening your parcel.
